My sophomore year was filled with events, responsibilities, a myriad of new friends, and most importantly a new spectrum of music. To celebrate the gorgeous new sounds that I'd discovered this year, I decided to do a second 15-disc run of Gabe's Mixtape. When designing the plans for my first mixtape, I told myself I would do a mixtape every year throughout high school - a total of four - and this year, I would keep that tradition.
But this year, I wasn't going to make the same mistake I made with my first mixtape, and expect adults to be able to help me and voice my characters for me, so I simply chose not to include any poems this year. Unfortunate, yet not something I can say I regret.
Mixtape 2 was not released on the 1 year anniversary of Mixtape 1, rather it was published almost a month earlier in order to make a far more important date: Tuesday. Not any tuesday, but twosday. As in: February 22nd, 2022, or 22/2/2022. Although mixtape 3 cannot be published on the 33rd of March, it will still be in the third year of the 20s decade.
Mixtape 1 had quite a sad release, I had fewer friends my freshman year and I remember even giving one of the copies to my English teacher. This year, however, I met so many new people, and while I did feel pressured to alter my song choices to best fit some of their tastes, that does still lead to Mixtape 2 being a reflection of the new and interesting people I met and befriended this year. Without further ado here are the songs of my second mixtape.
